Man claming Blacklivesmatter, Shoots into Officer’s Patrol Car and Home, Screams “F*ck the Police”

Indianapolis, Indiana (WTHR) — Indianapolis’ police chief says a suspect is in custody after someone opened fire on an officer’s patrol car overnight outside the officer’s home.

Chief Troy Riggs says the officer’s cruiser was struck 3-4 times about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Barbara Greeson’s son alerted her that the rapid popping sound on their street overnight had to be gunfire. She woke up to police everywhere.

“They said it was only 17 shots, but it was, ‘BRRRR!’ Like that,” she said.

The gunfire happened at the home of her neighbor, Officer John Walters. The officer took cover inside as three bullets struck his police car and five rounds hit the house where his wife and son were sleeping.

One of the bullets struck really close.

Santa Monica Teacher, Student Fight Caught on Camera

Fight started as a conflict over drugs.

April, 5, 2014 Santa Monica, California (NBCLA) — A Santa Monica High School teacher and wrestling coach caught on cell phone videos fighting with a student Friday was placed on leave pending an investigation into the incident, the school district superintendent announced.

According to a letter sent to parents by Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Superintendent Sandra Lyon, no one was injured in the classroom confrontation between teacher Mark Black and a student whose name has not been released.

But Lyon said she was alarmed by what she saw of the videos capturing the fight, which caused Santa Monica police to come to the school.

“We really don’t want teachers putting their hands on other students,” the superintendent said. “We really want everyone to act in a way that keeps each other safe.”

Based on what she has seen, the “physical restraint” used by the teacher was “unacceptable,” Lyon wrote.

A Santa Monica police spokesman declined to comment on the incident and instead referred questions to the school district.

“We have been in contact with the student’s family, and we will work with them to offer the support that they may need,” Lyon wrote. “I am grateful that there is no reported serious physical harm to students or teachers, but that neither dismisses the severity of this situation nor my commitment to gather all the facts and make sure the proper actions are taken.”

Students claim Black confronted their classmate about alleged illegal activity.

“The little boy was selling drugs in class,” said Kylan Townsend, a student. “The wrestling coach told him to stop … I guess he didn’t listen and tables were thrown. They started fighting.”

“The kid said like, ‘Hey, get off me,'” said student Sam Wittert. “And he pushed the coach. And the coach, like, pushed him up against the wall.”

Parent Skipp Townsend believes Black could have handled the situation better.

“The teacher was in a position where he could have controlled the situation without using violence,” he said. “But I definitely understand being frustrated with the children being out of compliance.”

School security and Santa Monica police intervened and the student was detained.

Neither the superintendent nor police would discuss the boys’ status Friday night.

Some think Black got a raw deal.

“Yeah, I think he should come back first day after spring break,” said senior Sam Borghese. “He’s old. I think he’s 50 or 60, something along those lines. He’s about to retire!”

Women Abducted and Tortured for Days in Storage Facility

March 28, 2014 Jacksonville, Florida (Action4Jax) — A woman was allegedly imprisoned and beaten for two days at an Atlantic Self Storage facility in Jacksonville, Fla., before she escaped on Sunday and was rescued by passersby. The unidentified victim apparently escaped when her captor fell asleep. Two witnesses driving by the property saw the victim naked and bloody outside the facility, and stayed with her after calling 911.

“We drove by the storage unit and observed what we thought was a homeless person,” witness Justin Dhaemers told the source. “We decided to turn around. We were wrong. She was a badly beaten lady, very unrecognizable, like out of a horror story. It was unbelievable.”

Police have arrested Haywood West, 38, and charged him with felony battery causing great bodily harm, permanent disability or disfigurement, and false imprisonment. A second suspect was questioned by authorities but has not been charged. The victim’s daughters told the source their mother was friends with West.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, including extensive bruising and bite marks. Her daughters said doctors told them their mother may be permanently blind. The woman was expected to have surgery early this week.

Daughter Mandy said her mother was nearly unrecognizable. “It was not like my mother was laying there. It was like something off TV or something,” she said. “It wasn’t like her at all. Her face was basically mangled and beaten in.”

Black Woman Arrested: 5 Children Living in Feces, Bug-Infested Home

March 27, 2014, Orlando, Florida (WESH2) — Five children have been found living in a filthy home brimming with trash, dog feces and urine-soaked beds, police in Florida have said.

One of the children begged to be given a new family and opened his mouth to reveal a set of rotten teeth when investigators went inside the home in Orlando, according to a police report.

Their mother, Yolander Lasane, 45, has been charged with child neglect after her children, aged 5, 9, 12, 15 and 17, are believed to have been living in the sickening conditions for several years.

Photographs show clothing and trash strewn about the house, black mold and rotting wood in the kitchen and an insect-filled bathroom with a broken toilet, sink and bathtub.

Animal feces was also found over floors and walls, according to the police report.

Police were called to the home by a Department of Children and Family worker, who told officers that she was concerned Lasane’s 17-year-old child had not been home in three weeks.

The teenager had never been reported missing and Lasane told authorities that she was troublesome and had been ‘sleeping around’, and did not think she had to report her missing.

The children, ages 15-17, were living in the deplorable conditions for years, officials said. The house has been condemned. DCF officials are working to place the children in safe environments.

According to the arrest affidavit, the toilet, sink and shower were inoperable and “the only thing in the kitchen that seemed to be working was an electric can opener that the kids stated would open cans of food to eat.”

According to the report, Lasane told police it was her weight and knees that kept her from caring for her children. She said “she can only lay in bed,” leaving the kids to “come and go as they please.”

Police said when they arrived, one of the children asked for a new family and complained that his teeth hurt. When police looked in his mouth, they said his teeth were completely rotted.

Neighbors say they would often seen one of Lasane’s five children wandering down the street, looking to work for money.

Lasane faces five counts of child neglect.

Black Suspect Targets Women in Park Forest, Illinois

March 21, 2014 (Park Forest, Illinois) (CBSChicago) — Police are looking for a man who may be connected to a string of assaults on women in Park Forest. In the latest incident, a naked man grabbed a woman in Shabbona Park Thursday morning.

Tamica Smith was walking home after dropping her daughters off at school. She put on her earphones and was walking through Shabbona Park when she was grabbed from behind in broad daylight. Smith fought back against the man, who was naked.

“He had a skull hat on. No clothes and some boots. We tussled, swung at him again and tried to call 911,” Smith said.

“I got four daughters at my house. I’ve got family with daughters. Period. I don’t want nothing happening to these kids. And the man was big and strong. It was just by the grace of God I was able to fight him off,” Smith said. She walked her daughters to school again on Friday, but brought her son and a baseball bat with her.

In the two other attacks, teenaged girls were targeted near Winnebago Park at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday and the intersection of Westgate Street and Westwood Drive.

Police say the first two attacks appear to be related, but the third may not be. However, they are not ruling anything out.

“We’ve got dozens of leads so far, detectives are out on that. We’ve got units out in the area, we’ve done a canvas of the area and other investigative techniques we’re employing,” Park Forest Deputy Chief Christopher Mannino said. Mannino said they’re following up the leads.

The descriptions of the attacker are similar in the first two attacks, and police release a sketch of a man in that incident. He is described as a black male between 28 and 35 years old between 5’8″ and 5’10” and weighing 135 pounds. He has yellow, crooked teeth and a beard, officials said. In some of the attacks, he was wearing gray sweatpants, a black-hooded sweatshirt and dark sunglasses.

No one was injured in any of the three attempted assaults, officials said. Police say they picked up patrols in the area.

Thug Targets Women: Armed Robbery and Carjacking, North Miami Beach

March 21, 2014, North Miami Beach, Florida (CBSMiami) – An 18-year-old man with a criminal history has been arrested after a terrifying ordeal for two women in North Miami Beach.

One of those victims is speaking out to CBS4’s Peter D’Oench after she says a gun was held to her head during an attempted robbery and attemped carjacking.

“I feel it was really unbelievable. It was really scary. I was really scared,” said Simone Okun.

The 36-year-old real estate sales associate told D’Oench she was held at gunpoint by Augustus Robert late Wednesday morning at the Intracoastal Mall in North Miami Beach beside her Range Rover.

“He tried to open the door,” she said. “He tried to open it and I closed it. He tried to open and pulled back to close it. I tried to lock the door. Then he put a gun on me through the window.”

“I thought he was a student because he had a backpack. It happened just as I was walking to my car,” she said. “It was scary.”

“I chose to fight back because he scared me and I had to act quickly,” she said. “I was thinking quickly and he had a gun and said give me the money. I didn’t think twice.”

“But I wouldn’t do it again,” said Okun. “Next time, I’d give him the money. If it happens to anyone else, they should give everything away if there is a gun on them.”

After the incident, Okun said she flagged down a North Miami Beach officer near the mall at Northeast 35th Ave. and 163rd St.

Police say she later identified Robert as her attacker.

After that incident, police say Robert tried to rob another woman at the mall at gunpoint but he ran away after someone walked up.

Police say that victim also identified Robert as the man who demanded that she give him money.

North Miami Beach Police Commander Tom Carney told D’Oench that, “This arrest is significant because he was going around the neighborhood victimizing people. We don’t know how far he would have gone. So we are glad we stopped him.”

“He was arrested at such a young age,” said Carney. “We hope he’ll serve some significant jail time.”

“The message to others is don’t resist and be aware of your surroundings as much as possible,” he said.

Carney said Robert is charged with attempted carjacking, attempted armed robbery, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed weapon and burglary of an occupied conveyance.

Records show that Robert is no stranger to law enforcement. He’s been arrested before for aggravated assault, armed robbery and burglary of an occupied dwelling.
