Man claming Blacklivesmatter, Shoots into Officer’s Patrol Car and Home, Screams “F*ck the Police”

Indianapolis, Indiana (WTHR) — Indianapolis’ police chief says a suspect is in custody after someone opened fire on an officer’s patrol car overnight outside the officer’s home.

Chief Troy Riggs says the officer’s cruiser was struck 3-4 times about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Barbara Greeson’s son alerted her that the rapid popping sound on their street overnight had to be gunfire. She woke up to police everywhere.

“They said it was only 17 shots, but it was, ‘BRRRR!’ Like that,” she said.

The gunfire happened at the home of her neighbor, Officer John Walters. The officer took cover inside as three bullets struck his police car and five rounds hit the house where his wife and son were sleeping.

One of the bullets struck really close.

Christian Rene Haley, Murders, Robs and Rapes, Marylyn and Kelley Erb

December 27, 2013, Westfield, Indiana, (WISHTV) — Police have arrested a 20-year-old Indianapolis man in connection with last Friday’s double homicide in Westfield.

Investigators say 52-year-old Marylyn Erb and her daughter, 23-year-old Kelley Erb, were beaten to death inside their home on Oak Park Court, during a home invasion.

Police said Thursday they’d arrested 20-year-old Christian Rene Haley, of Indianapolis.

He’s facing two counts of murder, two counts of felony murder, and one count each of robbery, burglary, and theft.

Police spokesperson Captain Charles Hollowell says the Erb’s home was not randomly selected. He says Christian Haley was an ex-employee of Todd Erb, Marylyn’s husband and Kelley’s dad.

Hollowell wouldn’t elaborate on why then Haley picked the Erb house, what led up to the crime, or what happened inside that house.

He said numerous tips led investigators to Haley, and they worked with multiple agencies to find and arrest him.

Haley was interviewed and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

Detectives say the man in the surveillance pictures released last week, has been located and has been questioned by police, but is not in custody. Police wouldn’t say what his involvement in the crime was.

Captain Charles Hollowell thanked the agencies who aided the Westfield Police Department: including the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Carmel Police Department, Noblesville Police Department, Hamilton County Prosecutors Office, Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, Indiana State Police, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Lawrence Police Department, and the US Marshalls.

Hollowell said he also was glad to let the public know a suspect was in custody.

“For the public, to give them some type of sign… And let them know that when things happen we’re going to do our investigation, and we’re going to do a thorough investigation. We worked around the clock, on this. Ever since last Friday we’ve worked this case,” he explained.

The Westfield Mayor also released a statement Thursday night.

“Our police force worked tirelessly around the clock trying to solve this senseless crime,” says Mayor Andy Cook. “Westfield prides itself in being named one of the best places to live and one of the safest communities in the country. The fast acting police work over the past few days proves that Westfield employs some of the best police officers in the state and will continue to be one of the safest cities in Indiana and the country.”

Captain Hollowell wouldn’t say whether police are looking for any other suspects, but said this case remains an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the Westfield Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at (317) 773-1300 or to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS (8477).

Six Black Males — Shot, Raped and Robbed Two Females in Indianapolis — 11 involved

December 1, 2013 (RTV6) — The charges stem from the brutal home invasion robbery that that terrorized a family in the 800 block of East 79th Street, in the Meridian Hills neighborhood. The early morning crime involved as many as six males who shot and sexually assaulted a woman in her 50s, and repeatedly raped her daughter, who is in her 20s.

Indianapolis Indiana  Marion Superior Judge Mark Stoner considers two of the violent home invasion suspects such dangers to society and threats to flee that he raised their bonds to keep them in jail.

Taiwan Lundy and Demetre Brown were both being held on $200,000 bonds for their roles in a pair of northside home invasions in late October that left two families brutalized. Lundy’s bond was hiked to $250,000. Brown’s bond was increased to $400,000.

“Both have demonstrated a tendency to be a fugitive, to run, and we wanted to insure, considering the level of violence that is involved in the charges, that this danger to the community not be seen again,” said Deputy Prosecutor Barb Trathen.

Brown is suspected of participating in a home invasion robbery of a couple on Spring Mill Road October 24th.

“This extended beyond any burglary robbery, so to speak,” said Trathen. “It went into a severe beating of the victim in this case and other actions in regard to the female in the home that indicate a degree of violence well beyond the normal home burglary – exceedingly beyond a home burglary.”
