AntiRacist Murders His Family

January 25, 2014 Texas (MailOnline) — A 17-year-old boy who shot his sister and mother said that watching horror movie Halloween gave him the idea because he was ‘amazed at how at ease the boy was during the murders and how little remorse he had’.

Jake Evans’ disturbing four-page confessionwas released yesterday during his trial for the October 3 shooting deaths of his sister Mallory and mother Jami in their upscale home in a gated community of Aledo, Texas.

The chilling confession spells out in intricate, matter-of-fact detail the thoughts and actions of the 17-year-old in the hours leading up to and during the inexplicable slaying of his two family members.

Though Evans is not known to have been suffering from any mental illness at the time, he writes that after the shooting, ‘in shock I ran into my room and screamed at the top of my lungs that I am really messed up and that I killed my mom and sister’.

He heard noises and realized his sister was still alive.

‘As I emptied the shells on my bed, I heard noizes (sic) and realized that Mallory was still alive.

‘While I loaded the gun back up, I was shouting that I was sorry and then ran as fast as I could to kill her. I made sure my mom was dead and shot her again in the head.’

Evans said he had watched the Rob Zombie remake of Halloween three times earlier that week and felt it would be ‘the same for me when I kill someone’.

The 2007 film is about a ten-year-old boy who murders several people and kills a number of others 15 years later.

Evans said he also had planned to kill his grandparents at their home across the street and his oldest sister who was there, as well as another older sister who was home from college, according to the statement.

My plan was to kill my sister and my mom at my house and then go over to my grandparents and kill my oldest sister Emily and my two grandparents,’ Evans wrote.

Authorities have said his father was out of town at the time.

Evans, who was home schooled, said he argued with his 15-year-old sister, Mallory, that day after she made a racist comment, and he felt his family were becoming people he hated.

‘The people who are racists, bullies, and who are full of themselves are the really evil ones. And it amazes me because those three qualities are extremely common today.

‘I was very sad because I felt like my own family were becoming the people I hate’, he wrote.

After hitting golf balls, running errands with his grandmother and watching television at home, Evans put a knife in his pocket and thought about killing Mallory, according to the statement.

But he decided to kill his mother and younger sister with a gun stolen from his grandfather so they wouldn’t feel pain, he wrote.

‘I then spent probably over an hour walking nervously around the house thinking how life will never be the same and how I would never see them again,’ he wrote.

‘Thoughts of causing her pain kept entering my mind and were really bothering me,’ he wrote. ‘But then I’d think about the times she hurt my feelings or really pissed me off.’

Evans then reveals he went to his sister’s bedroom door and asked her to watch The Waterboy with him. But he later excused himself and went into the art room. There, he imagined killing Mallory again, he told investigators.

After about 30 minutes he came back with the knife in his pocket and thought about killing her.

‘I sat for about 5 minutes and then playfully threw a pillow at Mallory,’ he wrote. ‘We started having a pillow fight in the room.

‘After a while I thought to myself that if I were going to kill my mom and Mallory, I wouldn’t want them to feel anything.

So I decided to kill them both with the .22 revolver I stole from my Grandpa.’

Evans shot Mallory and then his mother, Jami, with the .22calibre but went back and shot his sister again after realizing she was alive, according to the statement.

He also shot his mother again to make sure she was dead, he wrote.

But he said after shooting his mother and sister: ‘I know now though that I’m done with killing. It’s the most dreadful and terrifying thing I will ever experience. And what happened last night will haunt me forever.’

At the time of the slayings, the 911 call was released in which Evans can be heard calmly explaining to the dispatcher what he did and why he did it.

He told her: ‘This is going to mess me up in the future…I told my sister that my mom needed her. She was in her room, and she came out of her room, and I shot her. And she rolled down the stairs and I shot her again.

‘And then I went down(stairs) and I shot my mom maybe three or four times.’

In his confession, he describes the thoughts that went through his head as he realized what he had just done.

‘In shock, I ran to my room and was screaming at the top of my lungs that I am really messed up and that I killed my mom and sister,’ he wrote.

‘As I emptied the shells on my bed, I heard noizes (sic) and realized that Mallory was still alive.

‘While I loaded the gun back up, I was shouting that I was sorry and then ran as fast as I could to kill her. I made sure my mom was dead and shot her again in the head.’

He said he placed the gun on the counter and called 911.

Sheriff’s deputies found the bodies of his mother and sister and arrested him.

In the last lines of his confession, he wrote: ‘I know now though that I’m done with killing. It’s the most dreadful and terrifying thing I will ever experience. And what happened last night will haunt me forever.’

Cedric McFail Murders Melissa Williams in Texas

January 21, 2014, Mckinney, Texas (WFAA) — Brandy Bristol first met and bonded with 36-year-old Melissa Williams at the McKinney day care center where Williams was gunned down just after she had picked up her two youngest children Thursday evening.

Not only were both women mothers, they both have five children.

“It didn’t seem like anything was going wrong in her life,” Bristol said. “She was very happy to be a mommy. She was always happy to talk about baby stuff with me, and I was always happy to talk about it with her.”

Police say Williams’ estranged husband, 33-year-old Cedric McFail, approached her vehicle after an argument in the parking lot at the Discovery Learning Center, located in the 1800 block of W. White Avenue. Then, he opened fire with the children inside.

McFail took off and later took his own life at house on Frontier Lane. Police said he went inside a home, had a brief conversation with someone there before shooting himself.

Bristol said Williams had a new baby boy. Her older child played with Williams’ 5-year-old. She said Williams never expressed concerns that she might be in danger. Court records show Williams filed for divorce in October 2013. Friends said McFail had been depressed since the break up.

Twenty-four hours later, Bristol said she can’t believe it occurred just across the street from her home.

“Right across the street from my house, a mom was murdered,” Bristol said. “And her baby saw it. And my babies are here. What if a stray bullet had hit those kids over there? I mean, this is too much.”

Since 2009, Williams had worked for Collin County Community Supervision and Corrections in the administrative department. Co-workers say she had a kind, giving spirit and a wonderful attitude. Friday, the day care center was open and grief counselors were brought in.

Chaplain Doug Roberts is with Victim Relief Ministries.

“It is definitely a stressful situation for them,” Roberts said. “It will take some time for the grief process to work its way through for everybody.”

Bristol said she couldn’t stop thinking about Williams’ children.

“Now those babies are orphans,” she said. “It’s just too close to home.”

Police said the children are in the care of Child Protective Services and that the incident is an ongoing investigation. Detectives are continuing to interview witnesses and gather evidence from both crime scenes.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the McKinney Police Department at 972.547.2700.

Married Arian Foster, has Affair with Brittany Norwood, who is pregnant

January 15, 2014, Houston, Texas, (KHOU) — A judge has ordered Houston Texans Arian Foster and the woman who is allegedly pregnant with his child to comply with a mutual injunction to stay away from each other until their legal matter is done.

Brittany Norwood’s attorneys filed for a temporary restraining order against the married running back claiming he and his brother have been pressuring her to get an abortion. A hearing on the matter was set for Wednesday morning, but Harris County Family Court Judge James Lombardino called in attorneys for both sides Tuesday. He ruled that neither side can harass the other while the case plays out in court.

Foster’s attorney filed a motion asking the judge for a gag order. He claims Norwood was planning to produce a reality show about being pregnant with the NFL star’s baby. The judge denied the attorney’s request.

Norwood, a 20-year-old University of Houston senior, claims she didn’t know Foster was married with children when she had sex with him last summer. She said they were first intimate at Hotel ZaZa where Foster was staying during training camp.

Norwood said they also spent a week together in California in November while Foster was recovering from back surgery. Norwood sold photos of them together in California to TMZ.

“I truly fell in love with this person,” Norwood said.

Foster has not commented about Norwood’s claims, but he has spoken publicly about his marriage and posted photos of his daughter on social media.

Norwood said everything changed when she told Foster she was pregnant and wanted to keep the baby.

“He’s like, ‘You can’t have this, you can’t have this kid, like, we cannot bring a child into this, like, think about my kids,’” Norwood said.

She said Foster began sending text messages urging her to end the pregnancy.

“You just can’t bring a life into this world under these circumstances. It’s not fair to anyone. It’s not just about you,” read one message, according to Norwood.

She said Foster’s brother, Abdul, also sent messages.

“He’s like, ‘You know, if you loved Arian at all you would have an abortion because this child is going to ruin everything,’” Norwood said. “’Like, our whole family will never accept this child.’”

Norwood said the baby is a boy and he’s due in June. She said Foster hasn’t helped with her medical bills.

“I’m 20, I’m scared, I’m another single mom,” she said through tears.

The temporary restraining order filed against Foster claimed he recklessly engaged in a pattern of outrageous conduct that caused Norwood to “suffer severe emotional distress.”

“We want his conduct to stop,” said attorney Douglas York. “We want him to communicate effectively and we want the harassment to end.”

They are also asking the court to force Foster to submit to DNA tests to prove he is the father.

According to court documents, the couple will be back in front of a judge on Feb. 24.

A mob of teenagers have been caught on tape robbing a convenience store in Bryan, Texas.

Surveillance video shows the kids rushing through the store, grabbing everything they can get their hands on as girls are seen twerking and doing the splits outside.

The frightening ransacking incident took place Saturday as store clerk Terry Polsgrove, 19, was shutting up for the night.

A few teenagers are seen trickling into the Chevron Food Mart, then, all of a sudden, 30 to 40 teenagers are dancing and acting ‘crazy’ down the aisles and in the parking lot.

The surveillance video shows some of the youths shoplifting chips, candy and soda worth about $200, Kelly McKethan, spokesperson for the Bryan Police Department, told The Eagle.

Polsgrove said said it was too much for the two workers to handle inside, adding that one of the suspects even stole beer but dropped it on the way out.

‘Within a matter of 20 minutes, I was overwhelmed by kids ages 8 to 17, I mean it was crazy,’ Polsgrove said.

‘I’ve never seen anything as crazy as that.

No one was injured during the 20 minutes that the large group spent in and around the store.

Polsgrove can be seen trying to pull the doors closed, he said to separate the teens. But the group swamps him and he gives up.

He told the Eagle that the group said they’d been at a teen night at Club Nice across the street before they descended on the store.

McKethan said Saturday’s incident did not appear to be premeditated.

But investigators are using the video to identify young thieves who could be charges with theft, criminal mischief or organized criminal activity.

Black man Murders Melissa Sowders, in Houston

Texas EquuSearch volunteers found a body underwater in Cypress Creek on Thursday morning after an exhaustive, six-day search of the wooded area. An autopsy has yet to confirm the identity of the body.

January 3, 2014, Houston, Texas (KHOU) — There are disturbing new details in the death of a pregnant mother. On Friday morning her estranged husband, Matt Sowders, appeared in probable cause court where a judge found reason to charge him with capital murder.

On Thursday, Texas EquuSearch volunteers found the body believed to be that of 26-year old Melissa Sowders in Cypress Creek. They had been searching for her since Saturday.

Within hours, U.S. Marshals, Harris County Sheriff’s deputies and members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force took Matt Sowders, 28, into custody at his parents’ home in Humble.

They had guns drawn as he walked out from the house with his father.

“Get on the ground,” marshals yelled, and both Sowders’ immediately did.

In court early Friday morning, prosecutors said two women heard separate confessions on the day of Melissa Sowders’ disappearance a week ago.

One said she even saw what she believed to be a lifeless body from the doorway of the Sowders’ apartment when she went to visit.

“When she looked past [Matt] towards the hallway she observed what she believed to be the feet and lower legs of a female lying on the floor of the apartment,” the prosecuting attorney said.

That witness then called Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies and next called Matt Sowders with a deputy on the line. Prosecutors said Sowders admitted on the phone to killing his wife.

The other witness said she received a visit.

“She said that the defendant told her he had strangled Melissa to death after she pulled a gun on him. He told her he blacked out. When he came to, she was dead. He said he stuffed her into a large black trash can and transported her to Cypress Creek. And there he submerged her body,” the prosecutor said.

Single Mother — Baby Found Covered In Cockroaches, Feces and Maggots

December 22, 2013 Pelican Bay Texas (CBSDFW) — A 19-month-old baby was found in Pelican Bay on Monday, covered in cockroaches and feces and crawling across a busy street.

Pelican Bay Assistant Chief of Police Stephen Combs says a resident was driving northbound in the 1400 block of Sheri Lane on Monday at 3 p.m. when she spotted something.

“She spotted something in the roadway,” said Combs. “The closer she got to the object, she realized it was a 19-month-old baby crawling in the middle of the road.”

The woman stopped, picked up the child, and immediately took him to the police station.

“The baby, when he was brought to the police station, had live cockroaches coming out of his diapers and crawling on his body,” said Combs. “The people that brought him into the police department had to clean out their car because of the live and dead cockroaches. He had feces on his face; he was extremely dirty. It was a pathetic sight.”

Around 3:30 pm, the baby’s mother, identified as 23-year-old Tiffany Jenkins, walked into the station and asked if anyone had found her baby.

After an investigation, authorities determined that Jenkins was in the yard with her four children, and apparently forgot about the 19-month-old.

“When one of them hurt her foot, Miss Jenkins took the other kids into the house but somehow overlooked the 19-month-old baby,” said Combs. “While inside, the baby managed to somehow get out of the yard and crawl down the street. The baby was found some 250 feet away from the home.”

Jenkins has been arrested and charged with Endangering a child, a second degree felony. Her husband, who also lives at the residence, was at work at the time of the incident and is not facing charges.

Child Protective Services removed the other three children — ages 9 weeks, 3 years, and 5 years — from the home and has placed them with grandparents.

Agents with CPS were forced to shake cockroaches and maggots off their clothing when leaving the residence, according to Combs.

Iniubong Ebong is Convicted for Murder of his Daughter in Houston, Texas

December 9, 2013 Houston Texas (KHOU) — A Harris County jury found a father guilty of capital murder Monday afternoon in the death of his 5-month-old daughter.

Iniubong Ebong was convicted of hitting his baby daughter, Indya Ebong, so hard he lacerated her liver in November 2010.

The sentencing phase of the trial will begin on Tuesday.

Investigators said Ebong, who was 31 at the time of the incident, was babysitting the infant while her mother worked a double shift on Black Friday. He called the mother to say the girl needed to go to the hospital because something was wrong.

When the mother arrived, she found her daughter unresponsive and the father sound asleep. The baby was pronounced dead at the hospital. Authorities believe she had actually been dead a couple of hours before the mom arrived home.

An autopsy later determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma to the abdomen. Her liver had been lacerated.

CPS said the family had no history of trouble at the home. They said Iniubong Ebong didn’t live with his daughter, but babysat for her sometimes.

Authorities said he first claimed he dropped the child, then later admitted he struck her because she wouldn’t stop crying.
